Alex Eunkyeong Yu is the Korean representative of itim International, Culture and Management Consultants. She is a certified consultant in the IRC (Intercultural Readiness Check) and also professional behavioral analytic tool, DISC. Born and raised in Korea, Alex’s intercultural experiences started in Seoul. Working as a project manager, and later as a marketing director for the leading interior design firm catering to the multinational companies in Seoul, she had a great chance to observe how different cultural assumptions affect business in intercultural environment. She also worked as an independent consultant related to company restructuring, life-style business set up, and telematics.
She has BA and MA in Literature from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, and MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management. Leveraging all her experience, she wants to dedicate herself to providing the most relevant cross cultural insights for international businesspersons. Her major interests are building intercultural competencies in communication, negotiation, and multicultural team building.
She is fluent in Korean, English, and comfortable in Japanese. She also vaguely remembers there was a time she could read French novels in French.
