Alex is an intercultural management consultant and executive coach, and she has been representing itim in Korea since 2004. Alex loves to facilitate individual and group processes to be mindful and creative when confronted with differences. As a trained thinking partner, she loves to explore multi-faceted aspects of intricate issues, and encourages people to see the unseen raising questions to many automatic responses. Alex’s areas of focus include global leadership development, intercultural management, and culture change and transition.

Alex is the ICF (International Coaching Federation) accredited coach, and certified in MBTI, DISC, and Intercultural Readiness Check (intercultural competence assessment tool). Alex holds BA and MA in English Literature from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, and MBA in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management with the honour of Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Sigma Iota. She is currently enrolled at Ph.D. program at Fielding Graduate University, studying Human and Organizational Development. She is fluent in Korean, English, and comfortable in Japanese.

Alex has enabled her corporate clients to achieve high performance and personal development in the face of intercultural challenges. Her services have included leadership facilitation, with her mission being to encourage the clients to lead themselves before leading others. Among her clients have been Samsung Global Strategy Group, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai-Kia Motors, SK Telecom, Amore Pacific, POSCO, Cigna Korea, DuPont, SPX Filtran, Hong Kong CSLNWM, and more.

One of Alex’s clients, an advisor to an international investment firm, recommended her services as providing “an especially high value to international executives as they address the complex communication and leadership issues of managing on foreign soil.”

Alex is the lead author of Cultural Detective: East Asia, a web-based intercultural training tool that defines the similarities and differences of the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cultures. Her guest speaking appearances include the 2008 LG Electronics Global HR Forum and the 2006 Swiss Re Reinsurance Asia HR Conference.

Alex enjoys good food, good company, and good talk. She also loves classical music and any kind of dance.
