Angelique was born in The Netherlands. With a Dutch mother and a German father she was raised bilingual. At the age of seven she moved to Germany. With this family background it was a matter of course that Angelique studied International Business at “Fachhochschule Dortmund” (Germany) and “Hogeschool Amsterdam”. She holds a combined BA in International Business from both Universities. During her time at school and university she lived in the USA and in Guatemala/Central America. She then worked as project manager for an international marketing company organising exceptional events for international corporations within Europe. Following Angelique joined Holden International - a US-based sales training and consultancy company - supporting the setup of its EMEA business. She was responsible for operations and performance management and gained further multifaceted intercultural experience. Since 2006 she works for sales-genetics – a strategic sales consulting firm - as a consultant, specialising in sales competency assessment and analysis for international organisations. Within the scope of these international projects it became clear that while focussing on improving sales effectiveness, most sales organisations have implemented approved sales processes and best practices throughout their organisation. These usually originate in the USA and are based on American cultural assumptions, making them difficult, or even dysfunctional, to apply in other cultures. This is when she started working in intercultural management, currently developing a consolidated offering jointly with itim on the effect of intercultural management in sales. Angelique is fluent in German, Dutch, and English and is able to communicate in Spanish. She resides in Duesseldorf/Germany and enjoys travelling, cooking, painting, and inline skating.
