Bob Waisfisz, born in 1942 in The Hague, the Netherlands, is an economist who has worked for the United Nations and for industry. As a child he lived in Indonesia and after having finished his studies, he worked some years in Turkey and Lebanon. Since 1969 he travels extensively and his work has taken him to over 90 countries. As Director of a Postgraduate Management Training Institute associated in those days with the Technical University of Delft, he gained detailed knowledge of management styles in all their variety. Being very much an entrepreneur, he has established many different organisations and companies. He has also undertaken many missions and assignments around the world in such areas as crisis management, evaluations, inspections and change management. He is the founder of itim international, which has been taken over by Gigi de Groot. He is the founder and managing partner of itimfocus. Starting more than twenty years ago he has developed quick scans to measure the actual and desired cultures of organizations, based on additional research conducted by Geert Hofstede in the 1980's. Moreover, he has developed fully integrated change tools to assist management consultants to help their clients in realizing their optimal culture. In 2008, itimfocus started a cooperation with a software company in Finland, Feedback Dialog. Bob very much likes speed skating-his Dutch self, skiing his -mountainous non-Dutch self, swimming and volleyball, playing the piano, landscaping and gardening, drawing and reading. As he also enjoys the social side of life, he sometimes feels bewildered and wonders whether one life is sufficient and whether reincarnation is not a sweet way to cope with too many predilections.
