Candida Snow (1965) was born and raised in England. She holds a Bachelor's honours degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics from the University of Leeds. Candida spent time living and working in France and Spain before settling in the Netherlands, where she still lives. She spent a number of years as head of department at the internationally renowned language institute for the business sector, managing a team comprising 12 nationalities. It was there that she experienced how language can serve both as access and a barrier to intercultural communication and business.
It was a logical step for Candida to move 'beyond language' into the field of intercultural management. She joined itim international as a consultant/trainer in 2000, specialising in intercultural communication, team management, learning and expatriation. She is passionate about working with her clients to identify and address their cultural issues so as to manage them efficiently and effectively - thus using the cultural dynamic to the benefit of the individuals, teams and organisations concerned. Some of the client companies she has worked for are: Philips, Sara Lee, Navteq, Heinz, Kema Keur, Clifford Chance and various international business schools. In 2006 she left itim to take up a position as team leader in the Dutch public sector. However, the lure of the intercultural management field proved too great and she joined Ideas4 – partner of Itim International in the Netherlands - in 2008.
Candida is a dynamic and adept trainer and consultant, comfortable at different organisational levels. She is a regular guest speaker at a number of universities and client conferences.
In addition to her native English language, Candida is fluent in Dutch, French and Spanish.
