Christian Erfurth, born in Sweden in 1946 joined itim in 1986. His main track since he started to work as a consultant in 1975, when he formed his company SWEDECHRIS AB, has been the internationalisation of companies and people. That track has made him to work with business and management development. For 10 years he worked as a university lecturer in international business and finally moved into intercultural management. Christian's professional background is in technology, especially telecommunication and he holds a MBA in international business from Lund University. He is a member of EIBA, European International Business Association, EFMD, European Foundation of Management Development, EAMSA, Euro-Asia Management Studies association and SIETAR, Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research. Christian comes from a Swedish/German family so he is fluent in Swedish, German and English. An important part of his life is nature, therefore a lot of time is devoted to the country house, doing practical things in house and gardens, jogging and orienteering. His main clients are Swedish, (Nordic) multinational companies and their activities in Europe, (East and West) and the USA. With his German background he also works for German companies, for example Bosch. Some of his clients in Sweden are Tetra Pak, IKEA, Swedish Match and Hilding Anders. Since 1974 he has been to Asia Pacific for about twice a year, in wintertime! He now does about 8 seminars every year for Western companies in intercultural management in Asia Pacific. His seminars are highly process orientated, and selecting participants who represent a variety of functional, organisational and cultural backgrounds enhances the process. Said by his Australian friends, "a true European".
