Chrysostomos Chrysostomides (1958) is a Captain of the Merchant Marine and an expert in Liquefied Petroleum Gas handling. During his service in LPG carriers, he came in first contact with training, instructing fellow officers and future captains. He has undertaken numerous ship repairs, alteration and quadrennial ship surveys in shipyards around the world where he acquired his project management skills. After his sea career he went in the insurance industry in Greece, where he worked in sales and was made a nationwide trainer, teaching sales and leading the first organized initiation courses for new agents. In 2001 he founded his own training and consulting business. He has worked with companies of various sectors such as Bayer Agricultural, Kraft Jacobs Suchard, Unilever, Cisco, the National Insurance Company, Allianz, Egnatia Bank, Heineken Bulgaria, Bureau Veritas Bulgaria, Alpha Mega Cyprus, 5 Continents Logistics and Warehousing Cyprus and the Bank of Greece. Chrysostomos conducts open seminars throughout the year with the following subjects: Project Management, Crisis Management, Communication Skills and practices, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, Selling Skills and Train the Trainer courses. Chrysostomos, besides his nautical certifications, holds a Risk Management in the Banking Sector, rules of Basel II, certificate from the Economic University of Athens and is a CEDEFOP certified vocational trainer. He is well at ease with the tailor making of seminars suited for particular needs which always contain simulation exercises for hands-on application of the seminar topics. Being raised in Istanbul Turkey as a member of the Greek community, and been exposed to several cultures around the world during his seafaring life, Chrysostomos developed an interest and understanding in cross cultural matters. He joined itim in August 2007 after meeting Huib Wursten during a joint effort, leading an ongoing series of seminars for the Central Banks of the European Union, named Culture and Team Building for Effective Project Management. Chrysostomos is fluent in Greek, English, French and Turkish and has a basic understanding of Italian and Spanish. He is married and father of three, and tries to maintain connection with his hobbies, sailing, private aviation and amateur photography.
