Fernando Lanzer joined the itim network in 2007, though he had close contact with itim since 1994. Until recently he was the Global Head of Leadership Development & Learning for ABN AMRO, based in Amsterdam. He is a chartered Psychologist and holds a Post Graduate degree in Organization Development from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil.
For most of his professional career, since 1975, Fernando was a Human Resources Manager, working for Banco Sulbrasileiro, for Bankers Trust and then for ABN AMRO, with an emphasis on managing change and integrating acquisitions. From 1989 to 1992 he worked as a consultant in Sao Paulo and founded PPS in Brazil, a consulting firm which became the Brazilian licensee for itim.
As a consultant, his focus is on corporate culture and Organization Development issues. Fernando is also certified in Managerial Effectiveness Workshops (W.J. Reddin, London) and Developing Entrepreneurial Competencies (MSI – Washington D.C.). As an HR executive for over 25 years, he has been personally involved in designing and leading O.D. interventions in the companies he was working for, acting as an internal change agent and driving strategic shifts in those companies.
His passions include French and Spanish Wines, strategy games, films and music. He enjoys travelling to places which allow him to further pursue his other passions. Fernando is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and has a fair knowledge of French, Italian and Dutch. He lives with his wife Jussara and two teen-age daughters in Amstelveen, The Netherlands, though his consulting assignments take him frequently to Brazil and to different parts of Europe.
