Danish-born Lena Lauridsen joined itim in September 2008 when she returned to Denmark after almost seven years of living and working in Mexico and Slovakia. During this time abroad, Lena has gained substantial knowledge in international business and cross-cultural experience by being a strategic marketing consultant for Danish and American companies but also in her role as president of the Danish Slovakian Business Club.
Lena has a degree in International Trade and Marketing from The Southern University of Denmark. During the start of her career, as marketing manager within the radio communication industry, she has worked intensively with African countries. Next to the many years of living and working in Mexico and Slovakia, Lena has also lived and worked in France, Brazil, and Finland.
In May 2008 Lena co-published a book on expatriation: The world is calling (Verden Kalder). The book is available in Danish.
Lena is married to a Dane and together they have two children, both born in Mexico. Next to her other hobbies such as the art of making chocolates and enjoying nature, she loves to spend time with her family.
Lena is fluent in Danish, English and Spanish, and has a fair understanding of German and Slovakian. Her French is a bit rusty. She is also a member of SIETAR, the Society for Intercultural Training, Education and Research, and Delta Intercultural Academy.
