Masako Kato is a senior consultant of itim international/itim Japan. Masako was born in Tokyo, Japan. She spent a few years of her childhood in Boston, USA. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science from the Elmira College in New York, USA and in American Studies from the Nansen University in Nagoya, Japan. She holds a Master's degree in International Relations from the Sophia University in Tokyo. After her study, she moved to the Netherlands and worked for Fujifilm. At Fujifilm, she was responsible for Japanese expatriate management and was involved in various Human Resources Management projects from job appraisal and compensation systems building, recruitment and selection, organizational development and corporate culture change, working with both Dutch and Japanese management. After 16 years at Fuji, Masako joined the itim international group in 2003 as an intercultural and organizational culture management consultant. Her clients include both Japanese and European companies and organizations such as Fujifilm, Omron, Yokogawa, Teijin, Philips, ABNAmro, ING Direct, Boskalis, IHC Holland, Fluke, TEVA, Otto and TU Delft. For these clients, she has delivered her services in USA, Europe and Japan. Masako is a Co-Active® Coach of the Coach Training Institute and a certified facilitator of the Intercultural Readiness Check (IRC), a self-assessment tool to measure the intercultural competences. She uses the results of IRC and her coaching skills to help individual clients develop their intercultural competences. Masako is also an Organization and Relationship System Coach (ORSC™) of the Center for Right Relationship and an authorized facilitator of Team Diagnostic™ Assessment by Team Coaching International. She uses this assessment tool and system coaching skills to help clients create positive and productive intercultural business relationships and teams. She delivers training, consulting and coaching services in English, Dutch and Japanese.
