Pernilla Roersoe was born in Sweden. Her mother is Danish, and her father Swedish. A part of her family is American.
With this family background it was not so strange that Pernilla took a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and a Master’s degree in International Business Strategy from the Copenhagen Business School. As a part of her Master’s degree, Pernilla studied MBA courses at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario in Canada. Pernilla’s interest in intercultural management was triggered during her very first course ‘Doing Business in Pacific Rim’ taught by Professor Rosalie Tung. During this time, she was also introduced to the works of Geert Hofstede for the first time.
After her studies, Pernilla built up extensive experience in the aviation and transportation industry, hospital and health care, food, as well as high-tech. Apart from intercultural management, Pernilla’s areas of expertise include business strategy, business development, marketing research and strategy, project and program management, and knowledge management.
Since joining itim, Pernilla has been working with international companies and MNCs on aligning intercultural management with international operations, e.g. customer service. Pernilla works closely together with Huib Wursten on intercultural issues from a strategic perspective. She is particularly interested in intercultural management as a driver for efficiency and profitability.
Pernilla loves to travel and her goal is to visit at least one place, where she has never been before, every year. She is fluent in Danish, Swedish, and English. She has a conversational level in French and German.
Pernilla is a member of the The Danish-Chinese Professionals’ Network DCPT, The Japan Business Forum in Denmark (JBFD), The Delta Intercultural Academy and the International Club Copenhagen (ICC)
