Rolf Bake (Rolf van den Wall Bake in full) is a senior consultant for itim in the Netherlands next to his other activities as executive coach and management consultant. Born in The Hague in 1952, he spent part of his childhood and studies in New Guinea, U.S.A. and Canada. Upon completion of his studies in Naval Architecture and Business Administration, Rolf worked for more than 20 years in the international maritime industry (liner shipping, ports, warehousing & distribution). During the maritime phase of his career he spent 13 years living and working abroad in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Germany and held senior management positions and directorships for Nedlloyd Lines, Cornelder Holding and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines with a strong emphasis on multinational joint-ventures and cooperations. In 1998 Rolf took a sabbatical where after he set up his own consultancy and investment company. Activities ranged from coaching start-ups, via leadership programs (a.o. for the Metropolitan Police in London) to organizational change and coaching. Central to his approach is the conviction that a constructive interaction between people is a key to good performance and success. Over the years he has worked for a variety of companies, from multinationals to small family-owned operations. Rolf is fluent in Dutch and English, with a good knowledge of the German language and gets by in French.
