Salvador Apud, born in México in 1954, currently lives in Austin, USA. He has lived for long periods in Mexico, USA, and Germany. Since 1994, when he joined itim, he has trained top-level executives and officials from The Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. He became a specialist in Intercultural Competence, reengineering of organizational processes involving: Intercultural Strategy, Intercultural Management, Leadership and Communications with special focus on cross cultural operations in US-Mexico-Latin America. He is a frequent guest speaker these topics. During 2004-2005 he provided executive consultancy and coaching to corporations like: Accenture, Merck, Experian, Robert Bosch, CIBA, Kraft Foods, Terra Lycos, P&G, the NBA, and Watson Wyatt in programs coordinated by BC Consulting. Currently he is a member of the Supervisory Board of Mondi Packaging operations in Mexico. As entrepreneur he founded and managed companies in the Mass Media, IT and Consulting sectors in Mexico. He was elected during 5 consecutive years as a Vice-president of the Board of Directors of the National Chamber of Radio and TV in Mexico. Professionally he has worked as Venture Assessment Manager of the Alfa Group Corporate Offices, Director of the Coahuila-State Energy Commission, Strategic Planning and Modernization Consultant and Lecturer at the Tecnológico de Monterrey and Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila. In 1975, Salvador Apud graduated with honors at The Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico; in 1979, he received his masters at the Universität Fridericiana von Karlsruhe in Germany. He is currently a PhD candidate at The University of Texas at Austin, USA. Salvador Apud’s research interests are in the field of International Public Management and Cross Cultural Competence. He is writing his dissertation on the effects of culture on the implementation of public management reform in Mexico. He has coauthored peer review articles on "Cross Cultural Competence in International Business", for the Academy of International Business and the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS). Salvador enjoys his family life, his main hobby is to coach his three teenage daughters in Triathlon, where they have earned a place in the Mexican youth team during four consecutive years and have won top positions at Pan American Championships. He is fluent in Spanish and English and sufficient in German.
